“It turned out great!”

I was given an opportunity by my friend Lewis to draw a portrait of him and his family in Tenri City in Japan.
I put together different references of his family’s pictures and adjusted their positions to make a cohesive illustration.
The reference photo for the shrine is separate and is mine, which I received from a friend when she took the picture back in the summer.
Doing an initial sketch in a different medium can help take some of the pressure XD
As for the final drawing, I drew it on an 8×12′ Bristol paper and using Copic Fineliners.
I’m glad that it turned out really well and that they also liked it!
“Thank you for fulfilling this request! I wanted something special to remember our trip so I asked her to do a family drawing and it turned out great!” – Lewis N. from Honolulu, HI
