“Free Me…a sketch” . A little throwback to 2016, during my first year in Japanese school in Tenri.
I gave it this title for 2 reasons: first is that, I based this on Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People” because I really admire that painting.
Second is, well, at that time I wasn’t drawing as often as I do now. I was preoccupied with my studies, silly crush situation and living in Japan.
I was sitting at my desk, in my room. A Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t that hot yet. The window on my left side. It’s quiet. There’s a stack of my coursework in front of me and I pulled out a sheet of paper and started drawing.
I felt free and happy.
